Isn’t it adorable?! And in our favorite color of course, hot pink! After much comparison shopping and many mama-friend recommendations, we decided on the Britax Pavilion. Super safe and super cute…dig it! We bit the bullet and ordered it through amazon monday afternoon (on sale for $254! Sells for $339 at buy buy baby - love me a deal!) and just a day and a half later it arrive on our doorstep…just in time for our drive to San Antonio! </p> <p>San Antonio, you say? Why yes! We are off to see my cousin graduate from Air Force boot camp - way to go, Trae!!! We also get to hang out (and maybe have a glass of wine or two…or fifteen) with Aunt Kay, Karen and Al! So excited to have them in Texas and get to see their faces and hug their necks!!!</p> <p>So tomorrow is graduation and a bit of hang out time with our Pennsylvania clan, then we Webbs are off to Austin to pick up our Kiwi kin! Here come Nana and Grandad, fresh off a 3 week romp through the woods of Canada loving the freedom of travel by RV! The hubby, the angel baby, and a bike ride to the park! Our new baby trailer is AWESOME! Jason even took it off-roading on our way back home; a shortcut through the rocky hilly greenbelt frisbee golf course behind our house. Mama MAY have bailed off her bike on a particularly steep incline once the backward momentum kicked in, but daddy and baby killed it! They made it up without even breaking a sweat. </p> <p>Not only did I get my bike ride with the hubs and babe, but I also got lovely cards and a Starbucks to start the day, then chocolate covered strawberries and a surprise edible arrangements from angel baby herself (she even said I’m her best friend on the card, *heart melts*). </p> <p>What a happy beautiful day. I hope all of you had a wonderful day too! :)</p> <p>And a special happy Mother’s Day to Nandy, Nana, and Grandnana! Daddy said, “look out on the deck!” and Lenox and I did a double take outside the window to find this…hahaha! I swear, she probably didn’t even struggle to get up there. Just used those long legs of hers to walk right up on top of the table…I’d bet she didn’t even use the chair as a step! </p> <p>And doesn’t she just look like queen of the castle out there on that table? Comfy as all get out, surveying her kingdom. I can hear her now, “Do bring me a cup of tea”. Umm, no. And get down off that table before you tip it over and hurt yourself (said the REAL queen of this castle, haha)!</p> <p>We took a quick trip to the vet yesterday, not for any table-related issues, but for them to take a look at swelling around Kya’s incision. (no weight to report this time, but Monday I believe she was 58.8lbs…? Jeepers!) The swelling turned out to be a small infection from her licking the incision site, which I swore up and down to the doc that she DOESN’T do! </p> <p>Well, figured out last night, during either a let-the-damn-doggies-out-to-pee-every-night-at-3am sleep break or a heard-the-baby-cry-is-she-really-awake-and-need-a-bottle sleep break, that she licks incessantly when we aren’t awake to stop her! Sneaky bugger. Time for a nightly e-collar?!</p> <p>So started antibiotics last night and otherwise, as you can see, she is right as rain. And apparently puppy antics do NOT take a backseat after surgery! And boy was she out of it when I picked her up at 3:30. Poor baby. </p> <p>But she’s set for a while. Last round of immunizations? Check. Microchip implanted while knocked out for surgery to avoid the pain of a laaaarge needle? Check. Toenails trimmed while unconscious to avoid any snips of the quick due to black toenails? Check. Girly parts removed to prevent more puppies that need homes when there are already so many wonderful ones waiting at the shelter? Check. Head surgery to shave the unicorn lump? No, not this time. Doc wants to wait a few months to see how her head shapes up as she grows and to ensure that any injury is truly healed before going in and shaving the excess bony growth from her skull. Good call, we want a happy healthy Kya - no room for mistakes when it comes to the skull and brain!</p> <p>And rest assured, she was back to her playful puppy self today. Instead of the quiet night snuggling on the couch and watching a movie with angel baby, she gets to hang out at the emergency vet with Toby to check out a deep cut that appeared after he and his sister had been playing in the backyard. Oh Lordy! At least the cut is below his eye, so although it’s not pretty, it should be fixable! And look, angel baby is even helping!</p> <p>My best guess? Maybe he cut it on the metal strip that holds our rain gutter to the porch. Kya MAY have chewed it off, leaving exposed metal.
